I grow parsley for the black swallow butterflies. They laid their eggs on them and the caterpillars munch on them. So I need to have alot of plants growing at one time. I live in Central Florida, so I can grow herbs. However, I parsley plants are getting a grayish spots on them and the plants are not thriving. I have looked under the leaves and see no small (or big creatures). I call the extension service and she said it was plant fleas. But after searching on the internet for plant Fleas, i found no reference. I can not spray them with any poisonous. Does any one have idea it is and what I can do for it. My caterpillars and I thank you. Mary

Is it possible that your extension agent means "flea beetle" when she says plant fleas?
Try googling on flea beetle for an image an see if it matches what's on your plants.
Here's a link with info as well.

Or sand fleas?
I recently planted parsnips and they love the greenery as much as parsley. Can't help with the parsley problem.
