I've been frustrated with the Monarchs. They always have their wings closed when feeding.
There were so many around today while the sun was warm, I had to try ~again~.
One Dahlia plant had 4 of them, how could I miss? After a few misses I got a few hits.
Persistence pays.

Thanks everyone. I very much wanted to get shots like this this season. I had enough closed wing shots but not open wing.
Today promises to be another warm sunny day, maybe I can snap a 'group' photo. lol.

Wow how pretty it is.......we have only had a few here this year. I sure wish they would come back so we could enjoy their beauty. You are so lucky to get such a nice one and have a chance to get a good picture of it to....
