My guinea pig is a PIG....bedding ideas?

I am not a guinea pig person but you know...it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Now, I've got this pig in a cage that looks like the pic below..and I've tried different kinds of bed...pine shavings, newspaper, a towel, ..but everything require either daily cleaning or he pushes it all out the bars of the cage, it looked like a pine tree exploded in my family room, all the shavings everywhere...

So what do you guys who keep small piggies DO?
