can i freeze fresh bell peppers before cooking

i stopped at a farm stand on the nys thruway yesterday and bought 1/2 busshel for bell peppers for 6 bucks. i grilled a few and my wife is making stuffed peppes as we speak. can you freeze them raw or do you have to cook them first.
