CLOSED: Have: Bearded Iris for Postage

Burlington, IA(Zone 5a)

Hello All!

I am guessing there are about 6 - 1 lb boxes available.

I had to dig a large clump of iris last week. They have been trimmed, washed, dried well and are ready to mail. I am attaching a picture of the actual clump that I dug. They have yellow stands and the falls are a red rust color with a yellow beard. They are very vigorous and had multiplied quickly. The rhizomes are medium sized and I am attaching a picture of part of them as well. There is a great planting guide on the Schreiner's Iris website. These will need to be planted as soon as you receive them as it is getting late in the season. I will mail them on Monday using priority mail.

Thank you for giving them homes!

Lori, I was just wondering if you knew the name of those?

Burlington, IA(Zone 5a)

Polly,

No, I am sorry to say that I don't. If I remember right I got that particular bunch from a guy over by LaHarpe, IL. I have been trying to be much more careful with my tags. I always start out with good intentions anyway. Now that I have the metal ones and the brother label maker, Things are much better than the the sharpie on the cut up window blind slats. I do know someone gave it to me and I didn't buy it from a dealer. I would think that it is an older variety and it holds up very well. I have them planted on the west side of a white metal building and they get the spring winds and the hot hot afternoon sun and they just hold up great. I may have a coser picture if you were trying to figure out something. Just let me know and I will look.

Lori, thanks.

I was just thinking I had a nice reddish brown one they would go well with, and maybe could order one next year, when I'm buying my next 100 LOL. If anyone does know the name, or even the name of one very similar, I would appreciate it.

Thanks again.

Polly
