Are these duranta seeds?

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I have a duranta the is either Saphire Stars or Geisha Girl. this year it has produced berries. Are these viable seeds and if so does anyone want them if I can figure out when to pick them.

Beautiful flower, rylaff! I'm supposed to have one, but it didn't bloom.

Yes those are the seeds and I just stick them in potting soil with out doing anything to them and they spout. I have 2 patio trees of this plant that are wonderful.

Wow I did not know they were that easy to geminate. I have 3 of these, A saphire one, a white one and one that is a lighter purple.. I will have to watch for the berries and see if I can get some started.

They are even easier to root than do seeds of.

I just acquired some this weekend. How do you root it?

I just stuck it in some water. Will it root that way, or is it a better way?

I root them in soil -peat based soiless mix-they root within a week or so

although I don't have first hand experience, I was told by a fellow gardener that my (resembling the picture above) duranta is a hybrid, and the seeds won't resemble the parent plant. Of course that wouldn't stop me!

I almost bought a very large Purple Duranta today but bought another big plant
I am going back to get it. The owner gave me those seeds which are pictured above.
I LOVE that plant! So very pretty! Plan to make lots of cuttings from it! Tricia
