I have a lot of Large Marisa Golden Horn and Columbian Ram's Horn Snails. (Marisa cornuarietis) I will trade for plants on my list.
The snails are excellent scavengers, keep the pond clean, and will eat a little algae, decomposing leaves in the water, and any leftover fish food that may pollute the water. These do not climb out on land.
Some will over-winter if the pond is deep and does not freeze to the bottom. Or they can be brought in for the winter & kept in an aquarium.
For pictures and info on snails here is a good site:

HINT: If you want to see pictures of the Marisa snails. Type in "marisa" in the site's search box.
