Oh Noooooo!!

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

This is a mystery as no animals were in the house..We went to town for about 5 hours and came home to all my AV's and babies on the floor!!! The shelving unit was tipped over like someone just walked by and shoved it over. It had sat square and level for 2 months and now over to the floor??? Needless to say I about mowed my poor DH over to get in and get all my AV's picked up and make sure they had their right labels and all the babies too, once DH saw what I was doing he pitched in and helped. Then I spent the next 2 hours trimming and repotting them. Poor things..:-( some look really funky right now. DH hooked the shelving unit to the wall so it cannot go over again............Lauri

LOL April, I told DH thats what it was....cannot print what he said...:-)...Lauri

Possibly showing my ignorance here....but could it have been a light earthquake? Was anything else in disarray?
Bless your heart! I hope everything survives the uproar!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh Lauri hope all is fine.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Oh, Lauri, what a shame! It sounds like most of them will be fine, and they will grow out of their funky trims faster than you'd think. I was taking an AV up to my SIL this summer, and something in the back of the car fell over on the box of plants... her begonia was smashed beyond repair, and the big AV lost nearly all the leaves on one side. I thought it would be a year before it looked OK again, but she took it back on Labor Day, looking nice and symmetrical again!

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Oh geez. How on earth could that happen. You have a mystery on your hands Lauri.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL no rain not showing ignorance. I thought that too and there were no quakes near us that showed on the site, but that does'nt mean anything. After I read your post I went and looked around real good and some pictures are leaning and I have clean spots on some of the table tops so I think we may have a had a little shaker. I've lost some of the smaller babies and a couple that snapped at the crowns are looking puny but I keep peeking at them.

LOL I should explain the clean spots....You can dust here in the a.m. and by noon it's back, with the fires around it's always sooty and dusty...really..That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

Oh, what a mess you had. Sometimes I have that problem, but I have a crazy cat to blame it on. I got a call the other day from my dh, he said "I've had it with this *^&$)*@ cat... when I asked him what happened, he said that the cat knocked over a bunch of my plants (av's and orchids) and the soil got into the sink (which was overflowing with dirty dishes) and the potting mix clogged the drain......

Hope your plants bounce back. I wonder what it was?? It's weird how the whole stand got knocked over and nothing else was knocked over?
