Horse insurance

On the banks of the , VA(Zone 7a)

Are yours insured?

How, with whom, and if you're comfy, would you mind giving me ball park prices?

We're trying to do some comparison shopping.

Right now our farm insurance is Farm Bureau..but the horses, teaching, shipping etc are all insured by EMO. The liability insurance is staggering but the price per horse loss/loss of use is ok, and the cost of the policy depends on the value of the horse. (For instance, I have not bothered to list Kipper, it would cost me more in premiums than the pony has actually cost me.)

The question came up because I was on the phone with USAA yesterday for a non-horse reason and I discovered that my USAA home owner's insurance covers the pony even if he is not living on the property, and it doesn't cost me any extra. Go USAA!
