I've never had ginger until this year. Got it in April and info said it might not bloom for 2 yrs. - so I was all set to wait. Well, lo and behold, I was walking across the yard this afternoon and saw something white on my ginger! My eyesight is bad so I had to walk over there to see what it was and I couldn't beleive my eyes! A flower! And I have 3 more buds (if thats what you call them). The fragrance is divine. Just like my gardenia which is also blooming. And they have multiplied like rabbits - for each one stalk I planted there are abt 4 now!

Congratulations on blooming your Hedychium coronarium (White Butterfly). You will love it more and more every year, jst feed it and water it and step back. :)
