Well, we bit the bullet and installed a feeder since we only have one hummingbird plant on hand (but lots of seeds thanks to all the DG'ers who helped me!) So far I've seen about 5 hummers, but this guy is the "guardian"...LOL!
Anyway, I've been tracking the times that they feed and took my lunch hour today when I knew they'd be out. I got under the steps about 2 feet from the feeder. Didn't know if they'd approach with me that close or not.
Well, they did. And here is my 'reach out and touch me' shot. Can't wait till hubby can experience this so up close and personal!

Our first feeder friend
Very Nice! Congratulations!
Only two more (so I don't bore everyone) Side shot approach to the feeder. This particular side of the feeder causes the hummers to do a triangulation approach - so funny to watch! They actually hone in on the right, back up, then into the flower sipper thing. None of the other sides of the feeder make them do this. I thought it was cute as the dickens.
Sunny put a red hat on and it will come right up to you. Had one land on DH's hat the other day. He got tickled lol
A big red silk flower behind your ear (Hawaiian style) will get them buzzing up close and personal too! Been there, done that... whole family was astounded!

Hmmm, I'm going to have to try these little suggestions...thanks ladies!
