Fall broccoli and cauliflower

Alexandria, IN(Zone 6a)

I harvested 2 very nice heads of broccoli and 1 nice white head of cauliflower. As I have more than one variety, it is going to be some steady eating of these for a while! The savoy cabbage is getting some head too.

I planted the seeds a little early this year as most of my cauliflower froze last year just as it was heading. The earlieri hot weather did not persist long enough to hurt the younger plants.

Lucky you! We still haven't gotten this fall planting schedule down right. Mine are still growing....no frost in sight. The kale is not even in the ground yet. Eat some broccoli for me!

I got a late start this year because it took me longer to get into this house than I had planned. So my broccoli is still growing and doesn't show any indication of growing any broccoli heads. Of course, it had a month-long interupt as I fought flea beetles. I'm surprised it survived at all.

I just got through eating my first harvest of potatoes. I don't remember any potatoes ever tasting this good. And I accompanied them with some organic chicken, some garlic, and some organic milk.

Mmmm. Wonderful.
