One Big Pottsii

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

H. pottsii has a very bad reputation as being a 'dawg' of a hoya - which I don't think it justly deserves!! H. pottsii is varied in its' leaf forms, easy to grow and bloom. What's 'dawgish' about that? Here is one of my favorites, for the leaves alone I would grow this!!!! This one is IML 0022.

carol that plant is beautiful...and it is the very same one that i have that brown rough growth...vicki told me to get some spray for fungus...which i did...it is down to one leaf left so maybe i will have saved it in time...cant wait till mine looks like that... :)

Gosh, Carol, what moron called pottsii a "dawg"? It has such lovely, shiney leaves, and this one is really a showstopper! Maybe because some of them are reluctant to bloom?

SOME of them are reluctant to bloom (for instance, this one has not bloomed) but some others are not. I like them 'cause they are easy and always lucious! My kind of plant! The same 'moron' who called it a 'dawg' said it was boring. HELLO? There are so many leaf forms (as in shape and size...'basic' leaf form is fairly standard)...and the reds they turn in high light is amazing.

Good luck Thelma....fungus is a nasty problem. Try some Daconil...at HD I think. Covers a variety of evils!

Boy, those leaves look so healthy and fresh. That hoya looks like it came out of a rain forest the leaves are so big. Beautiful plant.
