Kell the variegation on the fruit looks cool! Are you growing this plant?

No, I saw it at a friend's house and thought it was so cool.

Kell, is it warm enough where we live for this one to complete the sweetening and ripening?
I am considering this tree.

Lovely photo, thanks.

Hi Christie. I am not growing it and I can't remember whose house I saw it at. But it looks like it lives down to 7B so I would think it would do fine in our zone. The fruit is cool, isn't it? There is another variegated one that I saw at Kartuz Greenhouse in Southern Ca. Let me see if I can find it. It was even more variegated I think.

I had a nonvariegated fig tree years ago and it had lots of time to ripen. It was so messy though and the fruit would drop and the flies would descend. I was allergic to the white sap so when I would try to pick the fruit before it would drop, I would have such a rash.

I am not sure if these are edible but boy their leaves are so pretty.

WOW KELL!!!! What a beauty!!! Now I will need BOTH!!!!

Thanks!

My Black Jack is still quite young, but it never makes a breba crop, and the second crop only half ripens. There is still fruit on the tree now, it is never going to ripen....

That is too bad. Maybe where you are in San Anselmo, it is a bit colder than here. I really can't remember when my fruit was ripe. All I can remember is it was covered in them. I had a green fig variety.

I googled fig Striped Tiger and found it is edible. That is a beauty!!!!
