Well, this is my Pink that I got through the mail. I thought the cutting had died but it is my best one of 3. This is the bud as of this morning. I do hope I am able to see them bloom. Cold weather is coming and I will bring it inside.
Pink? First flower
Look at those fat buds!! And only a foot tall? Wow!
Your yellow brug's leaves do look like my whisker's leaves, maybe that's what you have? Can't wait to see your blooms!!
Congratulations! May you get lots of flowers yet this season.
Erick
What a kick you have your petunias inside too, Marie. LOL
I sure hope your bud does not drop. Sometimes they do when you move them inside. Is there a place closer to the house that is warmer where you do not have to move her inside?
You go PINK go! Make your Momma happy! LOL
Marie, that is nothing but a breathtaking view. So, out your front door you have mountains, and in your back yard you have a tremendous garden. wow. That is stunning.
AAACCCKKKK!!!! Stop it right now, Kell!!! No snow and no Christmas in 3 months. Really!!
Yeah, I hate going to the stores now because of the Christmas stuff they are already putting up. Let us at least get through Halloween and Thanksgiving first!
LOL Marie. You are too funny. Dave's was screwing up on pictues so please try try again!
Just had to add this one. This was taken yesterday from my daughters new house, or almost house. My house is about 2 blocks west of the the mountain, about right in the center of the picture. I have mountain to the south, north and behind. The mountains here are rather sparse of trees, but the rock formations make up for the loss of green. If you look at the top of the far mountain there is still snow.
Well shoot, Marie. I want to see you dance! Before you post, do the PREVIEW. If you can see your picture, it will show up when you hit SEND. If not, go back and try again before you do the final post it.
Some of my pictures are posting, and some not.
It was 9:40 pm when I posted the bud in its star form, I played with Tayson, Showered and went out to the living room to take a last look at the beautiful star. This is what I found, not even 1 hour later. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH I am dancing.
happy face, happy face. tippity tappity, dosie doe........
The closed bloom pics were so cute with the tiny tendils turning PINK! LOL. The pic above your foot pic is such a beauty of a photo.
Your grandbaby is another looker. You have a gorgeous family. Is that the daughter that looks like a movie star like you do? What a view.
Well you have a suaveolens there, Marie and I bet it flowers with great gusto for you! I love their wide open faces.
LOL Marie! Such a big bloom too. LOL. Look at those glued anthers too. So what camera are you using? It sure is taking great shots for you.
Kell, I kinda thought you would be on. Thanks for your support.
I am dancing my heart out here. I have 20 buds that I can count, and you bet that I am counting all that I can see. (explain suaveolens please)
Isn't he a cutie? He is my youngest daughters baby, they are living here and oh, do I have a blast with him.
I can see you are. It takes great baby pics too! LOL. How can you not want to pick that baby up and hug him, hug him, hug him. What a doll.
Suaveolens is a kind of brug, a species not a hybrid. I notice many hybrids that have suav in them, really hold on to the suav characteristics. Typically they have the long neck out the calyx with the shorter calyx. They have very short tendrils and the flower nods instead of hanging straight down. The pollen laden anthers are stuck together around the stamen.
Suavs are great favorites for they smell great and bloom in big flushes. But sadly they are prone to deadly fungus so they are really not the best to use for hybridizing if we want to get more disease free brugs.
I would say from watching these threads for so long, most people in the US have suavs. The pink rimmed whites seem to be more prevalent but lots of all white ones too. Gretchen 2 years ago had a fantastic yellow one she hybridized. Talk about a happy face. LOL
