New Hybrid Oleander seedling

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

this is #2 of the seedlings I have had bloom.Grows very robust is 6 months old and has it's first flowers, deep red with a fuschia eye, the flowers are a tad smaller then the mother plant (hardy red). The pollen parent was dbl yellow. This one will survive to endure scrutiny and evaluation, for bloomability and character. Its about 28 inches tall now and still headed upwards.

this is the flower of the mother plant (left) and the new seedling (right) when compared the difference is easy to see.

That is a wonderful plant. The flower and leaf size is spectacular let us know how it continues to grow. Everyone here is so o o bored with the everyday oleander it is great to see the improvements.

I second what jeri11 wrote .I would love to grow some but they are omnipresent here and at this stage boring.

Beautiful as usual Kyle.

But, I was focusing on that to die for greenhouse; it must be a fantastic place to work in the Iowa winters. Sunny, warm and surrounded by beautiful flowers.

Not always warm in the greenhouse in winter..when we get two or three days of 50 mph wind and below freezing temps with snow it can get down to 65F in there. but still nice.
