Sure I grew one from leaf but

How do you get the things to bloom? I have one big beautiful plant and it still hasn't bloomed. What can I do to help?

Tell us your growing conditions and what kind of begonia it is. Rhizomatous typically bloom early in the spring, rexes are sporadic but are blooming now, and canes can bloom off and on throughout the summer. Tuberous can be non-stop. Wax and dragon wings are non-stop if you give them adequate water and light.

Have you got them indoors, outdoors? Are you feeding them? How much light are they getting? Etc, etc.

I have one and it is a Rex, light fertilizer, sits under a florescent light indoors on my cabinet.

It may not have enough light for blooming. Rexes aren't known for their blooms but it's always welcome. The other thing is it might need cooler temps to force it to bloom. Rexes usually bloom around this time which coincides with cooler night temps.

Here is 'Mr. Kartuz' last September 12th. I usually don't take pictures of rexes blooming but did stumble across this.

Well the foliage is very pretty so I guess I can live without too many flowers.

I think Butch is right, my rexies bloom but it's secondary to their striking foliage. If it's blooms you want, you could try cane begonias. When I get to snipping my 'Dragon Wing' begonias back I can send a few for postage. Let me know. =º)
