Your 'nymph' stage of this bug, sure helped me a LOT .. in ID'ing some 'spiney-lookin' lil crawlies .. that I'd found in my bathroom a couply weeks ago!

kniphofia, I think your picture is an Harmonia axyridis Asian lady beetle larva. The spots on its back are too many for a seven spotted lady beetle.

I agree with claypa, that your ladybird larva is the Asian lady beetle Harmonia axyridis and not the Seven-spotted Ladybird.
