Leaves of Species

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Here is something I did yesterday just for fun. It's not official by any means and is based on what my plants are labeled as (which could be wrong) and the size of my plants (leaf size can increase with maturity and the size of the tree). I forgot to include P. sericifolia but will include it next time. I hope you will find it interesting as I did.

Nice job Clare!!

Baton Rouge, LA

That is so neat, Clare.

I have a yellow, which I believe is Celadine, that has some leaves that are about two feet long, but no blooms. I think I spotted an inflo on it the other day. I have had a tough time getting my plumerias to bloom this year. First it was hot and dry and then it became hot and wet.

I am beginning to get inflos now and I just hope I get to see them before I have to take them in the green house for the winter.

Thanks, guys!

Josegabriele, I am getting a bunch of inflo's this late in the season. I have eleven seedlings about to bloom for the first time also. I will have to bring some into the greenhouse also if I want to see them bloom as they won't bloom if I leave them out all winter. My greenhouse is going to be half the size it was last year so it will be interesting to see what makes it in.

Hi Jeri and Welcome to the Plumeria Forum! You will find so much info. in the sticking FAQ's thread. Please take the time to go through it and feel free to ask questions. "Inflo" is short for "infloresence" -- i.e., flower stalk.

Nice Clare..
are you bored?
:)

Btw Dr. Meerow has told me that plumies can be classifield into 6 groups based upon his gene research..
I wonder what those 6 groups are...

LOL, Robert! Not bored...fascinated by species! LOL! Yes, Luc mentioned something about Dr. Meerow's presentation. He used slides of pictures that were posted by an Australian woman over at Pals during one of her visits to a nature preserve of sorts over there. I heard that some of them were mislabeled unfortunately, according to some of the Pals. Here is an older but interesting site with some species listing: http://www.plantatlas.usf.edu/synonyms.asp?plantID=1313
