Hello All.
Thanks to the generosity of another DG member in sharing seeds with me last fall, I have these gorgeous Golden Hibiscus' (Hibisci? LOL) growing in my garden. The flowers are easily 7-8" across, are lovely golden yellow and have an rich red center. They bloom up a flower stalk like a Liatris or Gladioulus. Mine are now close to nine feet tall! I started these from seed in early May. They started blooming in early August and will keep going until our first frost (mid-October).

Looks like you got Manihot-ed too. LOL Sorry, these are popping up with different names. :) They are one my most favorite, easy to grow from seed, flowers! Don't forget to collect seeds!
Badseed, I'm glad you enjoy them too. They are something completely new to my area - I've never seen them in any garden or garden center. It's fun to find plants like this. I hope there is enough time for my seed pods to mature.

I've never seen them anywhere but here either. Sometimes they self seed. If you don't get seeds, let me know. I've already collected a couple of pods and have more on the plants.
Wow, your flowers are large. My plant is still a baby and it is planted in a spot that gets little water so the flowers have been smaller, maybe 3". I hope mine get to be the size of yours someday.
Badseed, thank you very much for the kind offer. I have lots of pods on my plants as well, but they may not have enough time to ripen before our first frost. I will definitely then be knocking on your door for seeds! They have to be in my garden next year.
ardesia, I tend to water my gardens every day, so that may account for the larger flowers. I hope yours improve!
Erick
