Please tell me exactly what Mallow seeds look like. I think I know but need to be sure. I am trying to save seeds for a garden friend and also for my Mother.
I have pinched off the brown husky looking thing. Inside looks like a cone shaped pod. Is this the seed?

Mallow Seeds Question
There are a lot of different mallows, do you know which one your's is? Or do you have a picture of the pod? Sounds like you may be on the right track. You can look on the plant files and most of the time, there is a picture of the seeds, or seed pods that is posted by someone if you look at all of the pictures.

I don't know the name/species of my mallow but it looks like Disco Belle except it's a wine color. Huge dinnerplate blooms.
After the bloom drops off there is a brown husky like shell left on the stem. In the center of this husky shell is a cone shaped pod of a thing. So I still don't know if that pod is the seed or if the seeds are inside this pod thingy.
I looked at several pics in plant files but didn't find any that show seeds.
If your Mallow looks like this;

It is of the Hibiscus variety and the seeds will be in the brown pod, about the size of peppercons or a little smaller. Let the pod dry on the plant, and then harvest it, they are easy to germinate.
Josephine.
Thanks Josephine. That's what I needed to know. The seed on mine looks exactly as you describe.
I just wanted to be sure. ;)
