I've had this for 5 years now. It's been languishing in the greenhouse for 3 years now. I need more room in the greenhouse so I've made the hard decision to let it go. It wants repotting and would love a home in zone 9 where it could be put in the ground.

Looking for perennial tropicals that can survive zone 8 winters. A nice miniature banana would be nice to put in with my canna.

CLOSED: Have: Mature Birds Nest Fern
Hi X,
I would love to trade you a musa rojo for your bird nest fern. Here is a photo of what I will send you. Mine grows outdoors and does pretty well in the winter coming back with more pups every year. Our winters are cold and wet here in Zone 8A.
Opps. Have to send the photo after I kill the asp that just stung me. Then I have to research what to do! OUTCH! They were on the mother banana.
Let me know,
For a moment I though you were offering me the very rare invisible banana! LOL
How big is this thing? It will be too late for the ground so it will be overwintered in the greenhouse.

Those are saddle back caterpillars .. and their stings are very painful!

Done and done .. do I get some of the caterpillars in the trade as well? LOL
I will decant the fern and pack it up .. my address is in the addy and I see yours is too! I will try and get it out tomorrow.
Thanks!

OK. GREAT! I will mail on Monday. Nope...this cats are history. They are beautiful but I just can't have them living on my plants. Too painful!
Thanks for the trade.

Daisy,
I hope there won't be a next time, but if there is wet the bite/sting area with water and pour a heaping amount of salt on it. You should get immediate relief from the pain.
