My poor Sour Wood trees have been completely defoliated due to the Web Caterpillars.They are the larvae of a small moth (can't remember the name).They are all over everything.
The good news is that they cause no lasting damage to trees or plants.The other good news is that they are cyclical.So next year there will probably be much less and the year after none.
The picture was taken last week in the NC mountains.
Yikes! Some moths just deserve the name "worm". lol Good thing they don't kill the trees.
