This poor plant looks like it is almost on its last leg. It was not marked with a name when I bought it, so I haven't been able to research and see how to take care of it. It was very full and gorgeous when I bought it earlier. Anyone here know what it is and how to take care of it? Thanks in advance.

need help with id
Got me on that one. At first I thought it was a red maple. Do you have a closer picture of the leaves?
I will go back outside shortly and take some more pics to show for helping with id.
Ruby
Ruby, first glance looked like some sort of Alternanthera - found this one that looks like it could be a match, A. sessilis http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/26293/
That is it!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much rcn48. I think of you often and remember that when I first joined Dave's Garden you sent me a welcome email. I appreciate it.
Now, I can research and see what this baby needs. Again, thank you so very much
Ruby
Ruby, you're very welcome :) It's a been a busy summer and trying to catch up on some of the forums. Wishing you the best in your 'downtime' and hope you're back on your feet soon. To reiterate the advice from others I've been reading on the threads - "don't overdo it!" - everything will be waiting for you when you're feeling better.
Debbie
Thanks Debbie - I had a follow up with plastic surgeon yesterday. He took out the drainage tube that was still in. I get to begin driving and showering today. Yippie!!!
I hear you ladies. I will be resting.
Ruby
Hi Ruby, nice to get that drain out!!! I remember it well.
I am getting ready to leave for my Herceptin IV soon I'm drinking water to hydrate my body and my vains, that is the first thing the nurse asks me if they have trouble getting into a vain, "have you been drinking lots of water?"
Today will be 2 down; 4 more to go.
Good luck, ladygardener! And it's great to see you're recovering so fast, Ruby.
I will be thinking of you Chris. Does the Herceptin IV make you feel ill? Do you have anyone at home to help you? I hope that the treatment goes well and does the job that it is designed for.
Hart, I have been surprised that I haven't felt worse. I ain't complainin'.
Ruby
Hi, Ruby. No, the Herceptin doesn't make me ill, it is not chemo, it will give me a better chance that the cancer will not return. They did get a vain yesterday, so I was very happy about that!
This morning I had to go for "mapping" for radiation treatments which will start Monday, I was told the appointment would be 15 minutes, but I was on the table for 45, that was without moving. My arm had to be over my head, it was supported, but that became uncomfortable after a while. I had to resort to Tylenol for my sore chest and sore back. Now I know how the rack felt. LOL
How are you feeling?
PS: I just read my horoscope for today I guess I should frame this: "Instead of focusing on what you perceive as all the mounting pressures in your life, think about the small, concrete steps you can take. Any progress is worth celebrating -- one move leads to the next."

Oh Chris - I understand what the horoscope is saying. There have been times in my life when things looked so bleak that I had a hard time finding one little thing to be grateful for. Boy has that changed over the years as I have aged and matured.
I have been able to put things in proper perspective it seems. When younger it seemed that almost every thing that came up was a crisis of sorts. These days it is almost the opposite, so many things seem like "small stuff." I am almost afraid to voice this, in case I get a good dose of something coming along and knocking me off my feet.
You have every right to be concerned. You are at battle with a large monster. Continue to take delight in the things that you love. We need your presence here. You start good topics and are an inspiration to me and others. You are doing as the horoscope says to do.....putting one foot in front of the other, doing the things that need to be done. As long as you continue to do that, things will turn out as they supposed to.
It might help for you to find a time during the days to start a list of "positive" things that you accomplished for that day or the day before. By having it in writing, you can refer to it on days when it is difficult to come up with positive things. You can begin your list by writing that you befriended someone recently named Ruby. I needed for you to be here it seems.
Nothing is too small to include on the list. "Woke up today" is a good start. ha-ha. Anyway honey, I wish I knew what to say to give you a lift. Be aware that you will have some overwhelming times and thoughts. Just don't get stuck there. Let lifes positives outweigh the negative. You have been doing a great job in keeping that attitude on a positive note.
Please accept my first ever offered cyber hug. ((((((((((((((((((Chris))))))))))))))))))
I think that I speak for myself and others here who want to be available to help you through this tough time. Let us be there for you.
Ruby
