I desperately want a Petrocosmea. Does anyone have one (or more LOL) that they would share with me? I'll be more than happy to trade or send postage. Leaves would be nice, but the impatient little kid in me really, really wants a plant. ;o)
Thanks everyone!
A trade request...please...
I have been wanting one of these also. They are so cool.Good luck with trading.I hope you get one:)
Hey Raingazer,
I have not posted in a long time, but thought I would chime in. I purchased several petrocosmea several months ago, and they all died. They seemed so fragile. The chiritas I got from the same person (an individual) did great. You might just start out with one or two to begin with, to see if you can keep them going. : ) Rob's has some, I think. Pam
If I manage to get to the Gessie show & sale at the Nat'l Arboretum this weekend, I'll keep an eye out for one and see if I can also get some advice on keeping it happy. Migraines are back today, though, so my driving down there seems pretty iffy if DH decides he's just not up for it.
Too bad I live in Canada because I have quite a few of them. I find them very easy to grow...they like it cooler and dryer than violets.
Joanne
"cooler & dryer" -- OK, I'll make a note of that... what about light?
thanks!
Amy/RainGazer,If you don't find one before snboyken sponsors a House Plant Swap 5, I will make a special request to be able to send to you.I have a couple ordered from Rob's and I wouldn't mind parting with one for such a worthy cause. : ) Nancy
Hi Pam! I've missed you! Glad to see you posting again! Please visit with us more often.
Thank you for relating your experience with them. I'm sorry you had so much trouble and lost them. I remember how excited you were to get them. Are you going to try again with them?
Jill, I'll pray for you regarding the migranes. I hope you're able to go. I'd love to go to a Gessie show!
Cool and dry, huh?? They should take over my entire house in the winter, then, because that's exactly how it is here. LOL
Nancy, you're just too sweet! Thank you very much! I have some AV babies available and if any of them are on your wish list, I'd be happy to trade with you for the Petrocosmea. If you'd prefer to wait for the Houseplant swap, that's fine, too. Just thought I'd offer my babies in case I have something you'd like. Dmail me if you'd like to. :o)
Thanks to all of you and big hugs, too!
Does anybody have a picture of one of these to share?
I would love to see one. Have no idea what it looks like
Dawna
Check out Keyring's latest post on her Bingo thread!
Hi Dawna,
I have some babies that I need to separate of Pet. Minor, Pet. Barbata, Pet. Momo, Pet. Begonifolia, and Pet. Rosettifolia.
So you see you have a good start already! I had some Pet. Begonifolia at my sale...did you get one of those?
Joanne
Hi Joanne,
Love the photos and the plants!!!! They are ALL so cute!
No I missed the Begonifolia at the sale! How did that happen! LOL
TFS
Dawna
Hi Dawna,
Well they were really small so they probably weren't too impressive....I had them in medicine cups. I have more I am sure...
Joanne
Do you have any Petrocosmea forrestii for trade, Joanne?
Don Ü
Hi Don...
Hang on I will have a look...I would be happy to send you one...no need to trade. Yes that one is a plant not a leaf so I can send you some leaves...dmail me with info and I will be happy to send you some.
Was there anything else I was going to send you...seems to me there was.
I have never put any leaves down for this one but I don't have a problem taking some from the outer edge if it doesn't spoil my symmetry (spelling??)
The Pet. Minor I put down on March 7, 2006 and it has just started showing babies so some of them are down right stubborn to birth!
Joanne
You're an angel, Joanne. Thanks so much. I think we discussed on an earlier post, some cutting for next Spring. But, for the life of me, I can't remember what! ??? Early stages of oldtimer's disease. I guess. ;)
You have d-mail.
Don Ü
