Estrogen treatment for my baby

Angel has had a few tinkle accidents in the house in the past week. At least we think it is Angel. She went to the vet today. I thought that she might have a bladder or urinary tract infection. Not an infection. The vet thinks that because Angel is aging that she has a weak bladder. She is starting on Estrogen today. Has anyone ever heard of giving a dog Estrogen? Does it work?

It has really hit me hard today that she is aging.
