The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

wow......what fun......

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks so much,

I have been working on this special cross for 5 years. I think I may have to get a patent on it for I am sure there will be so much demand for Kellifornia Love handles. The hard part was to get the love handles to be on each section and to be evenly spaced.

How cute is this?

Kudos Kell! It's lovely and so novel. The name is a scream!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Oh WOW kell, it's amazing, YES here I am waiting for seeds LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL you guys, I am joshing. But it is so weird, isn't it? The love handles start out small and grow. I probably have some dreaded brugmansia disease. LOL

Have a great day all, I am off to Sacramento on a begonia look and buy trip and we are stopping at every nursery we find. LOL Heaven.

Kell,
I'm amazed by your new unusual brug - never saw such before!
Please let us know if other blooms on the same plant look the same way. There seems to be a tiny separation in the edge of the skirt below each 'handle'. Wonder if there is any connection to the unusual form?

It's a pretty one. Keep us updated on it's journey through the seasons!

Thanks for the picture,
Louise

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

I luv it, Kell! Those handles are purrrrrty! Hope you save lots of seeds.
:) Donna

Well that sure is unique looking.
I think I would grab Kellifornia by it's Love handles and give it a big squeeze!

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Well you had me believing you. It is nice even though unusual.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Kin, the real Kellifornia has some real big lovehandles for you to get a grip on. LOL

Louise, the handles are totally connected to the skirt. They are just plain odd.

Oh Aunt B, I had the BEST time yesterday. We went to a begonia show and sale and hit all the nurseries around. Even HD! I found a great phormium there. But at the show we got in early because Lali is a VIP. So we could place first dibs on great plants. Of course this is not the best time to be buying them as winter is approaching but nothing like common sense stops us. LOL

And look what I found............ a so big PINK begonia. Of course I had to bring it home.

Oh, I KNEW you would have a grand time. So what if winter is coming, you had first dibs! Sometimes I can find "new to me" and unusual plants at the box stores, I try to check out HD and Lowes occasionally. Lowes had brugs this year (unnamed) and were selling them for $30! They were about 3ft and looked good for a while. Don't know if they marked them down or not. Your new begonia is just lovely.

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

Flowers always seem to follow Kell home.

That PINK begonia is gorgeous. Who cares what time of year it is, you can always winter it in the GH or in a Window in the house.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Hey Kell
The phornium can come here for the winter....
but I don't want no love handles....nope....no way...LOL

Too funny Kell... Such a pretty color.. Looks like pockets turned inside out! You could have taken that story as far as you wanted.. LOL That was just Too good.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Kell, looks like you could cut that new begonia up in at least 7 or 8 starts for some of the people here and still have a couple of leaves for yourself----------------------------------------------------------------LOL-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tussee

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Kell,

I can just see you at the garden shops. I would love to have a camera or better yet a video camera.

Your brug is just beautiful. (I wish I could give my lovehandles to my plants.)
OH and your begonia, fabulous. Just count on you to get the pink one.
