Dwarf Cavandish Banana

Ligonier, PA(Zone 6a)

A picture of one of my bananas. I'm in a race with the weather. This picture was taken around 4 or 5 weeks ago. I am hoping they will get close to ripening before the first real cold or freeze sets in. I'm in zone 9b so maybe.

What a fabulous picture! Uh, you said 4 or 5 weeks ago, how bout an updated picture?

This banana is in the ground. I will try and get an updated picture for you in the next couple of days. The bananas have grown but they still have a ways to go.

ive growned many bannas when it starts to get to cold cut the naanas from the plant and hang theam in a cool dark room . they will fatten up and ripen. your plant should be ok in the ground if they call for frost just cover it paul

Wow. I didn't know they would fatten up to. This is my first bunch of bananas. I have several different types but just recently planted them. Will they continue to fatten up and grow until the first frost? That may not be until the latter part of Jan for us.

This is what they look like today. The longest ones are only about 5" long.
