The first one...maybe a Gum Bumelia? The other two look like Queen's Delight, Stillingia texana. After the seed scatters from the pod, it can look like the pic # 3. I sometimes get moth caterpillars eating my Queen's Delight plants.
I have the first plant also. It looks like this Gum Buckthorn, but I haven't seen any signs of blooms or berries. It is several years old, grows quite slow. But the thorns and leaves are definately like mine.

I have another plant that looks like Gum Bumelia, but it doesn't have any thorns on it - I will check again.
Is Gum Bumelia a plant I would want to keep?
If your plant is Sideroxylon lanuginosum, it is a plant you would want to keep.
equilibrium, do you have a PF link, or another info page on the Sideroxylon lanuginosum? I am unable to locate a picture.
Here is a link to Sideroxylon lanuginosum, not very clear but maybe it will help.

Josephine.
Sorry, I posted the wrong link previously.

Your second picture does look like the others, but I don't know that shrub at all, so I am not reliable help.
Josephine.
It seems to be spreading in a certain part of the pasture. I am very happy it is a songbird plant.
AKA Bumelia lanuginosa. I would keep it. I had one along the fence at an old house. It was a nice small tree that reminded me of a small live oak in it's growth. Being evergreen is a plus and it should fill out eventually.
I wish I would have gotten a picture of the one I had before we moved. I was not deep into gardening or horticulture at the time and did not identify it until after we moved. I need to just go back over there and ask the lady who bought the place if I can take a picture.
Sweezel - are you going to the plant swap in Arlington? If so, I could probably bring you one - there is that baby one pic above, but after looking, I have quite a few. I did think they were baby live oaks as there are lots of those around, too.
These aren't growing in shade so much. Some are growing out from the base of a juniper shrub or the juniper shrub is growing out from the base of the bumelia. All is in full sun.
Yes, I plan on going to the swap. Not really bringing much, except for food. Just don't have much to share this year, but going to enjoy the company. If you have an extra with you, I will take it off your hands, but don't go out of your way. Thanks!
