I am unable to open a link that is sent in an email.

I am using Windows XP, using Outlook Express 6. When I receive an e-mail from someone that has a link in it to open I am unable to open it by just clicking on it. I have to right click on it and then click on copy shortcut and then go to my web page and paste it in the address space to open it up.

Can someone tell me what I need to correct to be able to just click on the link in a e-mail to open it up.
