Yep I had over 1/2" when I left the house this morning. We did get one little rain two months ago but this sure was a LONG time coming.

WOW my roomate just called and told me that the rain barrels are already full and overflowing! They were completely empty since we had used all the water already.

I couldn't believe my eyes - seemed to be little more than a drizzle, but it stayed around for nearly an hour. Every drop is a treasure!

We checked our gauge when getting home from work...1 INCH!

DH saw on the news this morning, they said if you have 1000 sq ft of roofline to catch the rainwater from your gutters into barrels, after 1" of rainfall you'd have 600 gallons of water! Did anyone else see this?

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

One whole precious inch of rain here also! Hallelujah! At our place it was raining when we left for town yesterday and sprinkling when we got back. I'm so greedy that I'm hoping for a little more. Anyway, that rain was WAY overdue!

well yeehaw and a big hurray...we got another 2 1/2 inches of rain today (Hey, that rhymes..lol). Can this dreaded heat and drought be over? Everything is puffing itself up outside...so wonderful to finally see it happen. :):) Almost drowned my SA RU cuttings! :o

That is a wonderful rain! We are still hoping for more, but that much last week has really greened the country up. Enjoy!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I think lack of rain is like lack of sleep. When you do without for so long and then can get a good sleep or slow rainy day....it doesn't ever recoop for the "lack of" feeling, but it helps forget how bad it was.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

lol Sheila, I couldn't have said it better myself.. :)

Thanks patrob....its incredible just watching the transformation, what with the moisture finally soaking into the ground.. :)
