A neighbor has just offered me some runners from her lotus. It has sent out dozens of runners each with several sets of roots. In the past I have air layered these runners (still attached to the mother plant) to start new plants but she wants them out of her pond so I would have to take a section and try and root it here. I know it is late in the season but we will have hot weather for another 2 1/2 months here.
Any tricks to rooting these runners? Thanks
Lotus question
id just stick theam in some mud in the water may be dip in root tone to regards Paul
If they have roots on them, you should have really good odds potting them. I usually plant them in the ickiest clay I have in the yard and they do wonderfully.
Thank you, I have really icky clay here so I should have good luck.
