Not the nicest Labout day weekend we've had but there was still some interesting colour to see.

Winday day on Lake Ontario
Lovely photo Joan.

Ü I can almost feel/smell the cool moist wind on my face.......beautiful Joan! Ü
Very nice Joan. Really captures a mood.
Thank you, there was indeed a cool, moist wind. Afterwards we went in from the shore and sat at a pool and fed the ducks. Not supposed to because the city wants them to fly south as is their natural habit.
There were a few geese so it looks like they have reduced their population drastically. They leave an awful mess and one has to watch where they step. ~:0)
Signs of Fall .....
What is the name of the lovely flowers above?
They are hydrangeas Pam, as they turn colour. I picked a bouquet of them to dry for Christmas decoration. Well, part of the Christmas decoration. I've also got:
Alium 'Blue Drumstick'
Alium 'Gladiator'
Alium 'Hair'
Grass - Fountain. Purple 'Rubrum'
Hydrangea
Poppy seed head
Pulmonaria - seed stalks
Queen Anne's lace
Thistle
There's one other that the neme won't come to me right now. I'll think of it a t 3:00 in the morning. LoL
Joan
LOL they looked familiar to me but since we can only grow pure white ones here (or purchase the very colorful florist type) I just wasn't sure. You are going to have gorgeous decorations with that selection.......Joan please take a pic when they are made up.
My Lacecap Hydrangeas are looking like that too, right now, Lynn. Sad, but they are pretty even in the fall right?
What a great idea. I am going to go out right now and cut some Hydrangea and Purple Fountain Grass for a winter display as well. Thanks for the tip and reminder.
Don Ü
Don, this is the best time to cut the hydrageas for drying. If you do it later they tend to fall apart.
I just stuck them in a vase to dry. They have turned a mauve shade with some of the pink showing through. So far they're holding up well. If I give them a shake - no falling.
