Lets hear a good story.

Horsens, Denmark

I enjoy looking at all the fur babies in the forum, but what about sharing a story?.
Well I can just as well start.
Many years ago, when Zarco was about 1 year old, a friend was going on holy day, so I promissed to take care of her hamster mom and her 9 baby hamsters.

My friend did not know the mom was pregnant when she bought her at the pets hop.
This ment that the cage was far to small for all of them.
So I decided to put all in a cardboard box, well knowing that the little ones with sharp little teeth, would try to come out. But thought that the teeth were so small, it would take all night to make a little hole. And by that time it would be morning at time to sleep.
The mom would probably just stay in there with her babies and would not try to escape.
Everything whent as planned, but each evening I had to enforce the box. Time consuming but I could not afford a cage.

One evening I came home later, rush to the box to see if the babies were awake.
As I leaned down to take a closer look, the only one I could see was mom, with her
little handd folded in fromt of her and looking at me. ALL the babies had escaped.
For a hour I whent on a frantic look for the fugitives, but nothing!
Then I noticed Zarco looking very, very, very strange at me. Could he really have…
I began saying bad boy and so on, but could he really have killed them?
At that time I had not had Zarco that long, but something told me that I was wrong.

I said “Zarco look, find the babies” it did not take long for him to understand what I meant.
He jumped towards to heater wagging his tail and looking at me as thinking “come on, come on now, hurry” I looked and looked, nothing.
Looked for a last time and saw that way behind, there were 9 babie hamsters, soaking wet and freeeeezing. (poor little things) Zarco had washed every single one with his tongue.
He looked proud and happy as he had done a good job LOL.
From then on I never enforced the box, but had to learn Zarco not to wash the little babies.

Any other stories to tell, happy, sad, funny ones please share them with us
Monica ;o))
