Tiger Grass

Seedling sold under name Thysanolaena textilis, which is not even a recognized synonym, as far as I can tell. This clump from Thailand.

Hi,

I found a gal pot hidden under some other things and it looked interesting. (5 bucks) I think it's this. If it is, can I put it in the ground or will it take over Florida? I had grown fast and it seems to not like my summer sun so I have been keeping is in partial shade and that way the leaves do not curl on me.

Thanks for any info, Have to send from my other puter. By any chance do you use Picasa for pix? Just d/l and can't seem to get a grip on it. Oh we..

This plant is supposed to be a clumper, not a runner, so it shouldn't take over your back yard.. however, it is a grass, and it will flower, and via the seed it could end up being invasive. You might ask around your area. Undoubtedly your climate will make this plant extremely happy and at home, and it could make you regret it.

I googled it and you are mentioned on the second page. Way to go!!!!!

I think it is going to live in it's pot.. It grows to 9' so I will keep it in a smaller pot and clip the tall, tall, stems so no flower/seeds come into the mix. Won't that make is OK?

The original plan was to plant it down by the lake...not in. But with your info and what I got on the net, it may take over the neighborhood. LOL

Thanks

Nancy Lee
