Didn't see much hummer action in the spring, but this fall has been an extravaganza. Now that mornings are cooling down, we sit in the patio, sipping coffee and enjoying the show. Life is great! These pics were taking early this evening, while sipping our sodas (diet of course!). This particular feeder seems to be the one the frequent the most.

#2 this pic is terribly dark, but the best I had of two hummers frolicking by another feeder. I have russelia planted right underneath this feeder, and I've notice they visit both. I remember reading a discussion in another forum about plants vs. feeders. For me, seems like 50/50.
However, I have two feeders, the kind that you stick in a hanging basket and they have not visited either one, not even once. I wonder if hummers consider them too low to the ground. Of course, my kitty just drools when he seems the hummer action.

what cute feeders you have, voss. The first one looks like a little chapel. most of my hummers have moved on. there's one still hanging on and I wonder why. but I guess there are always stragglers. I am keeping one feeder up and filled.

I know what you me about sitting outside with the cool mornings drinking coffee. Enjoying it here too for another week at least. I have more hummers in fall than I do in spring as well. Think it is because of the babies they have???
I think so because I have seen a lot of little ones. Those are the ones that usually thump against the windows...
