Yay for you! It's SO exciting! You're eye will probably catch them from now on. I have some now that are so big and so bright and they just float and glide all over. I just love them!

Thanks, it's a Digital Canon EOS 20D. It's not cheap but though I hated to spend that much money (hubby insisted since I love to take pics), it was well spent! But I have taken GREAT pics with much cheaper digitals, like the one below.

Very cool! I was totally thrilled when I saw my first visitor.
The plant is a butterfly bush (Buddleia Davidii) Black Knight. In my opinion, the best color, deep purple.

Thanks!! I didn't recognize the flowers. Ironically I have a Black Knight but, while it attracts butterflies, I can't see the blooms (which also aren't as nice as yours) most of the time because it is covered by a citrus tree. LOL

Oh how gorgeous ladyborg! Both the monarch and the buddlia :) I can't wait till I have some like that next year...and maybe a monarch or two also!

I saw another one this weekend (or perhaps it's the same one), I'm sooooooooo excited to finally get some cool butterflies. I have plenty of Fritillaries and Sulphurs and Swallowtails too.
