H. dennisii

Örebro, Sweden

I'm so proud and happy about my Hoya dennisii =) It's blooming for the first time and it has a LOT of buds and flowers. They are so cute!!! I got it as a cutting two years ago. It' a fast grower!
Here's a part of the plant with lots of buds.

Oh, wow Lotta. That is beautiful!

Congratulations on growing the cutting so fast and the gorgeous blooms!!

So, inquiring minds want to know ... how do you grow it (light, water, type of soil, humidity, etc.).

That is very nicely done. The flowers are really remarkable, aren't they? Nice clear close-up, as well.

Thank you all for your kind comments!

As usual, there's no big secret... =) I grow it in a big north facing window. In the summertime it gets a couple of hours of sun in the evenings, though. So it gets much light, but hardly any direct sun. I water it quite a lot. It produced its first peduncles in early summer this year. Many, many tiny little buds have dried up. So I started to water it more often; every day when it was warm weather. I water it a little on the soil and a little on the plate under the pot.

Absolutely one of my favourite Hoyas. Not much smell unfortunately, but you can't get it all!

Lotta...do you water it less in the winter?

Örebro, Sweden

Yes. I water it about once a week during the winter. Maybe two times if it dries up too much.
