This is one of my favorite plants. Even though it is not that big. I love the leaves on it. They get more pronounced when it grows. The pic shows green in the leaf, but when you look at it, it looks totally black. I wish it would flower though. The leaves also grow downward below the pot I noticed. So it would always have to be in a container because otherwise it would hit the soil I figure. The ones in the greenhouse are nice, but to get the leaf like this I had it under these T5 lights and also it gets some from the 1000w sodium that is on a 3 ft track. It is kinda under the end part of the track the light runs back and forth on. I thought it would be strong, but the leaves turn towards it and love it. All of my Alocasias love those lights and I thought they wouldn't. Just wish they would send up a shoot!
Alocasia Cuprea
Freaky first pic...looks like an alien brain.
Nice sturdy looking plants thanks for sharing hadn't seen them before.
lol! IT does! I keep hoping each new leaf shoot would be a flower instead.
forevereden the plants look great. You should stop in one more time before the season is over its looking amazing here. Maybe next season if you can get pollen we can try a few odd hybrids with your alocasias I have tons blooming in the spring but some of these I dont keep large enough to flower.
What a great plant! Looks like an enameled leaf......They look really fleshy or leathery thick.
Love that blush on yours, Linda.
That one is going on my list.
Robert.
