I was wondering what is the best type of plant food to feed my banana trees. I have a dwarf cavendish and a bloodleaf banana tree. They started growing very fast but have slowed way down now. I think I need to give them something good to eat so they will start growing again. So what do they like best?

Which plant food?
Jesse they need lots of potassium in the mix., but other than that I use a balanced water soluable fert. like Peters 20-20-20 but since fall is coming and the days are getting shorter many plants will naturally slow down in growth now.So don't use too much or too often till spring.
Save your ash from your woodstove or fireplace for spring when they will need a good goose....maybe sprinkle a little around them in the winter to rain in (????? Kyle). I know that our nanas love wood ash. Our banana fert is 10-5-40...and with our rains they take a lot of it. Also...when the mama stalk is finished (as well as old leaves) use them as mulch around the growing stalks to give back to the soil what they have used.

I was wondering if I can keep my banana tree growing through out the winter in my greenhouse. Would that work? If so, what temperature should I set the thermostat to?
