Wanted: Flowering Kale or Ornamental Oabbage seeds

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I am trying to find some seeds to start so I can have some color in my beds for the winter. I don't have anthing to trade right now but will be happy to pay postage. Any types are wanted... beggars can't be choosers.

Thank you very much.

the only seeds I've had that performed were cosmos. I broadcast on hard ground to fill in spaces that aren't blooming and to provide shade for other plants. Yes, I know that if one takes the time to prepare the bed most seeds will at least germinate but the cosmos keep reseeding all summer long and from year to year so initionally buying a couple of types insures that I always have plants to give to others who can't seems to grow anything and if they get too clumped I can reach down and pull out a bunch and no lose anything. Consequently I have a mostly yellow, red and purple garden w/the blue-red bouganvillea as an accent. I just wish I could broadcast pansies since it's too far down for me to transplant. I'm 5'2" tall and skinny but rather ancient so even from this height it's way down there.
Oddly enough, if I'm feeling frisky, I take cuttings of hibiscus or roses, dip them in starting hormone and rarely have a failure. Speaking of seeds, have you ever grown avocados from their seed in your garden just for the shade and looks of the never-will-get-any fruit tree that you can trim and prune at will? When you are in need of instant shade this is one of the best ways to get it.

Flowering Kale is NOT an ornamental. I used to buy regular kale occasionally and cook it for the wife. I was not fond of it. I saw flowering kale as produce. It was 3 x the regular price, but I was curious. It tastes great!
