Propigating caricature plant

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi everyone,

I bought a Graptophyllum Pictum Waimea, or Caricature Plant from Home Depot the other day and I want to trim it up and take cuttings to produce some babies of it for next year. What would you recommend, putting them in water or potting them up in some soil? I have already had success with starting one out in water but I was wondering if they would do better in soil. Any advice for me? Also, has anyone grown this plant, and if so, how is the best way to take care of it? Here is a photo of what it looks like.

Thanks,
Jesse

I forgot to send the photo.
