Did I get a pregnant onion from you earlier? It's having babies right and left. I'm planning to give one to my daughter before she moves out for 11th grade, to let her see how easy babies can .... crop up!

No Carrie you didn't get it from me.

I will post a picture either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Carrie, that is a great educational tool!

2pug... I am surprised your parent plant is passing. Mine looks ugly but keeps producing...

This is my p.o.

I am not sure if she is passing or not she is real ugly. She does have a bunch of babies. I noticed where I had her sitting in the rock garden there are 3 growing beside the pot. Almost as bad as mother of thousands. Podster yours looks really good.

Be sure you keep those pregnant onions in secluded pots unless you want them to invade the garden. It has been two years and I am still trying to get rid of them.

FYI Carrie- I sent you some pregnant onion a couple months ago.

Mine has bloomed this year. I also had a thingy about them being called a Bethlehem star or Jersulem star one.
THE BLOOM TOOK FOR EVER TO PUT OUT ALL ITS PETALS BUT OH HOW NICE AND LONG THE STEM WAS.

My PO blooms often throughout the year. It is long and in the way.

Can you cut the stem and put it in a vase? Mine never has never flowered but our relationship is still young....

Carrie ~ I have never tried it as a cut flower. It is a long ungainly bloom with tiny flowers that open from bottom up. There is no fragrance that I have noticed. The flower will eventually make seed pods. When done blooming, I trim the stalk off. Cut flowers might be pretty in a bouquet of posies. This one blooms sporadically throughout the year. Sorry I don't have a closeup of the bloom. pod

Well, Pod, I will basically put just about anything in a vase and call it cut flowers; prunings from any kind of tree, when I cut off tops of stuff I am sending. etc.

My Mother has that knack! She arranges beautiful bouquets of flowers or wildflowers mixed with weeds and grasses. Beautiful and so clever.
