Some real cool new begonias

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

We may be lucky enough to be seeing these at some point in the future become available to us common folk. I took these pics when I was with Lali at Mike Flaherty's house in Santa Barbara. We had the best time. I had to be on my best behavior and not fill my pockets with leaves. LOL I was so tempted. I am so attracted to shiny things............

I do believe these are rhizomatous.

My favorite of them - B. Angel Glo. Look at that red reverse.

This one also has such a leaf sheen and a subtle but interesting leaf pattern.

Nice Begonias. I think the Red Fred is another must have for me too. LOL

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

Gee, Kell...

Weren't there any leaves on the floor? You're slipping. They must have known about you and kept you under close surveilence. LOL

Hap

Those are sure purdy....

Hap knows you all too well Miss Kell! LOL. Actually Hap, we had to check our Felco's at the door, they did a bag check and bra check before we left.
(kidding! Joolz was so kind to offer cuttings of her beauties but I declined since we still had two days of travel left)

LOL, bra check!! I thought, oh oh, then Kell's in trouble for sure, hers have money and plant rustlers pockets I think! ☺

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Lets leave my bra out of this. LOL Is it my fault it is so big and handy and available? And besides Sue, I lost over $1000 from it at Kartuz so my bra is no longer on my hit parade. Tell me I am not still hysterical.

You are teasing us!! LOL! I want a Red Fred, too!

Lost it or spent it? Lost it??? Yikes Kell...maybe Mr. Kartuz found it and was using it for traveling money, I met him at the SF Aboretum when visiting Lali.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I didn't know you went down to the Arboretum that day. Shoot, I would have loved to have tagged along with you.

Yes, I lost it. I know just where too. Remember how it would fall out when I bent over. Well I paid my bill to Mr. Kartuz, walked outside and was bending all kinds of weird ways to take some pictures of his passiflora right outside his greenhouse. All the flowers were hiding under the leaves and the passifloras were all in pots so short, maybe 4 feet tall. And then we left and I discovered it gone. I am still upset about it.

So this picture cost me over $1000. And it is not even great. And to think I didn't buy all I wanted.

Ouch, big time ouch!! I did picture exactly that it was the picture shooting and bending that did it.
Did you try to contact them to go check? I guess all they can say is, yeah, I checked, uhhh, there' nothing there, sorry.
Time for a new design for money stashing. I wear the pants with little cargo pockets, handy for $ and phone and a lip gloss. ☺

I went just a couple of days after you got back to collect the begonias Lali brought me.
In case you mised my recent thread on the Tropicals forum, here are some more shots I took there.

I also took some dahlia shots from a big display by the Conservatory and shared them on that forum. They're not my thing but I appreciated their beauty and diversity.
