Weight Loss Challange Sept. 2 - 9, 2006

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I didn't answer someone about the Tyson store. Tyson chicken farms are a big 'industry'? here in central MO and we have a large slaughtering plant just 15 miles or so from us. Our son use to work there a few years ago and we have friends with family members still working there so I have access to the store. One is a friend who really does have no business doing any lifting so I go along as her carrier. I don't let her carry anything over 5# when I'm with her. I know she carrys more when I'm not with her but she really shouldn't. I really shouldn't either but I do it frequently just because there is no one else to do it for me.

It is a bit foggy and there is a heavy dew on the grass this morning. Our oldest son and his wife are on the way here for a visit. I cautioned him to drive carefully. I know he will of course. He use to be a semitruck driver. At 45 he knows how to drive without mommy telling him what to do but he is still my boy and I'm very much a mother hen as some of you well know. I'll constantly clucking over someone about something.

Breakfast was good. We had cooked flaked rye cereal with a bit of pineapple and some vanilla soymilk on it. Jack says he overate yesterday so today he will have to be really good. That will be hard with what I have planned for the meals today since he really doesn't like chicken with bones in it and the brats are nothing but well seasoned fat. I do have some burger thawed & will make some Worksburgers. He can eat those. I'll have to fix him some cooked list 1 veggies as he doesn't like salads. Many years ago diabetics had veggies in 2 lists. List 1 was the low carb, low calorie ones and list 2 was the starchy ones. I still revert to that method when planning meals. Somehow it just makes things simpler for me.

I need to go cut up the cantelope, watermelon, etc. and get the new smoker/grill together. We bought a sugar free strawberry pie yesterday from the heart association bake sale at the bank. It sure is good. Lots of fruit in there and just enough of some sauce? to hold it together.

I'm back down to 136# this morning That is a 3# loss of water in 2 days. Sure makes me feel better about myself. Staying below 135# is going to be a battle I know. I will have to watch every bit I take.
GOD bless and keep each of you.
