Need an Epi doctor...

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

I purchased 3 sets of 4 cuttings from Epies by Pat thru ebay the beginning of spring. 2 varieties have new growth (not a lot) on at least 3 of their 4 cuttings. One type, Orange Bowl, only has growth on 1 of it's cuttings and 1 of the other cuttings died - got "crinkly" looking (despite being watered regularly) and just died - min. roots on it when I pulled it up to look at it. No apparent rot anywhere. Do you have any suggestions? I was really hoping to see more going on with these plants. Seems like any cuttings I've rec'd in trades have more growth on them then these guys...now that I think about it - those plants are all in plastic pots where as these are in clay pots b/c I'd read that clay was better for them...ugh!!! Any thoughts? The cuttings from ebay weren't cheap...I hate to see them all slowly die on me. Thanks for helping me with this!!

I am no epi expert, but have had my hand full with them lately! What kind of potting mix are you using? I know I have had problems with cuttings not having enough drainage - I like to add lots of sand to my cutting starter mixes! Hope this helps

Thanks Abbie...I actually use just about the same stuff I do for my cacti...so it "should" be draining well...LOL
