HAVE: Eleph ear, Yucca, Cannas, Rose of Sharon, Perennials

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

I'm still trying to downsize my gardens and I'm clearing out a lot of stuff. Some things are small enough to ship but others are too big to ship. I'd love to do an in person trade or two if anyone is interested. I live in Jonesboro, Ark, about an hour from Memphis, about 2.5 hrs from Little Rock. I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to attend the swap in Augusta. I'm still recovering from kidney problems. And some of these bigger plants, you may have to dig yourself.

I might consider mailing some of these that are small enough if the trade is right.

These are a few of the things I know I can trade:

Running Elephant Ears

Yucca Filamentosa (too big to ship--HUGE)

Yucca Filamentosa bulbs

Perennial Ageratum - Blue floss flower

Vinca Major Variegata

Limelight Artemesia

Silver King Artemesia

Lavendar Rose of Sharon about 4 ft tall (too big to ship)

A beautiful evergreen ivy--not English ivy--leaves are smaller and lighter

Cannas--Richard Wallace, Red Stripe, Pink Beauty, China Doll, China Lass, Red Dazzler, maybe others

Yellow Four oclock tubers

Saponaria - Soapwort - pretty pink/white blooms

Iceberg Sedum - white blooms, bushy, 1 - 2 ft tall
Coral Reef sedum - groundcover, 6 inches tall

Tradescantia Pallida - Purple Hearts aka Moses in a boat - great houseplant, and is sometimes hardy here in zone 7

Daylilies - Named and Unnamed--will send you a list if you have something I'm lookign for

Bromeliad that is hardy in zone 7

Passiflora Incarnata

Hoya Carnosa

Large Adenium (desert rose) - hot pink

Three Small Adeniums (desert rose) - supposed to be one red, one pink, one white, but haven't seen them bloom

Water lettuce for pond

2 small ponytail palms

Oronoco Banana - too big to ship, it's 8 ft tall now, and the bulb will be too heavy

Salvia Leucantha - Mexican Sage - too big to ship. Is currently 5 ft tall, would share a division. Could cut some way back to ship if I have to

Several varieties of coleus -- cuttings for now--rooted plants in a couple months. I won't overwinter these so they'll either die in ground or go to someone who cares.

Magilla Perilla - cuttings for now--plants in a couple of months

Red Oleandar

Pink Oleandar

Asparagus Fern

Foxtail Fern (in the same family as the Asparagus Fern)

Woodland violets - white with a lavendar face

Sweet Autumn clematis - rooted plant - is large and in bloom now, will have to trim drastically to ship.

Assorted Garden books --- will send list if you're interested
Assorted CDs -- will send list
Assorted DVDs - newer releases like Flight Plan, Failure to Launch, etc -- will send list

What I'm looking to trade for:

Named daylilies - newer varieties with ruffles, eyes, patterns, etc.
Pulmonarias
Brugs that are hardy in zone 7 - well rooted plants - no cuttings please. I need them to overwinter in ground
Other unusual perennials (No houseplants or tropicals)
Big rocks for landscaping
Landscaping timbers and other supplies
Fencing
Fiskars post hole diggers (all metal)
Ink Cartridges HP 56 and 57
Other things I can use in my house or garden.

I'd love to do some big trades and won't bother with just one or two plants. If interested, let me know what you have to trade. Thank you for looking.

Nancy.....if you're going to the Plant Swap in Augusta, AR...that would be a great place to trade for you.

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

I don't know if I'll feel up to the drive. As I stated, I'm still recovering from kidney problems. I had surgery in May with complications and am still in the healing process. I am just now, this week, beginning to feel better. And as stated, some of these are just too big for me to dig right now, but they're in the way of my new driveway. So I'm hoping someone would be willing to come here and dig them and haul them home.

I am watching the swap threads in case I can go, but it would really be a lot of work for me to dig and haul all this.

I sure wish I was closer! I'd do all your digging in trade for plants!! =)

I'm sorry about your health issues and hope you're feeling better enough soon to enjoy our wonderful weather!

Rhonda, thank you. I'm actually doing much better today than I was Mon. The doc has prescribed a different antibiotic, along with an anti-inflammatory this time. And I think the anti-inflammatory is really what I should have had following surgery in May. I have just not recovered from the surgery or the infection. And my kidneys are still inflamed and very tender. But I'm getting closer to healed now, finally. I am just almost pain-free today!

And yes, I'm back in the dirt. I tire easily, but at least I can now make progress. I'm very excited at this change in my health. I've already gotten quite a lot done this a.m.

Where's Lonoke? Are you going to swap in Augusta? I'm about an hour from Sheila's house.

I am about 20 minutes outside of North Little Rock. I have plans on attending, only thing that will stop me is if the boyfriend is able to get leave then. He is leaving for Iraq the 1st of October, :( .....so if I get the chance, I will spend that weekend with him. He is very understanding of my "plant addiction"....but I don't think even he would understand me trading HIM for a plant swap...lol! Neither would I, to think about it! =) But, if that doesn't happen....I will be there with my swap boots on! Hopefully we'll get the chance to meet then!

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

Hey Rhonda, I hope we get to meet. I'm really going to try to make it. Maybe a friend will go with me. She needs some stress relief and she loves plants and plant people.

I keep going thru my gardens and finding more things that I either don't want anymore (like houseplants) or things that have multiplied well enough to trade. So my trade list keeps growing. I hope I can trade some of it off. It's just too much for me to handle. Daylilies are my passion now, so the other stuff just doesn't hold the appeal it used to. Wanna trade?

I have tons of seed, Nancy. I am working on some brugs right now, I don't know what plants I would have that could be traded. ....but would definately work out something if we could! Unfortunately, I haven't been bitten by the daylilly bug yet.....mine has been Brugs and Hibiscus! Just let me know what ya think!

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

Hi Rhonda, I have tons of seeds. Don't want anymore of those. I don't have the patience to wait for them to mature.

I'm only into hardy plants now, so the only hibiscus and brugs I'd be interested in would be some that would survive our winters. Do you have any like that? I really hibiscus and have a few dinnerplates in different colors. They've really wowed me this year. I think I need more. LOL What do you have?

N.

Williamsburg, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi, I have 2 named brugs, they are rooted and growing every day I can send pics if you like. and I will check the names. I could trade either for the Adenium (desert rose) - hot pink. LMK

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

Are they hardy here? Will they survive being outside all winter? I have a white one that is. But some of the others won't.

Williamsburg, OH(Zone 6a)

I have saeolens pink...I think it is hardy to 5 degrees, but not sure. and the other one is valley peach, I think it is hardy to 7b but not sure there again. I live in Ohio so I have to bring all of my brugs in.

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

Hi Clarkranch. I doubt they'd be hardy for me. I'm 6b/7a. Thanks for the offer, but I really don't have room to bring in anymore plants. Between health problems and other issues, I'm really trying to simplify my life now. Thanks for answering my post.

Hey- did you get a new printer? You used to use the same kind of ink I used! ; )

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

Hey Cheryl,

I actually have three printers. But I have ink cartridges for the others, thanks to great traders. Did I have something you wanted, Cheryl?

NancyAnn

As my DH says, Does a fat baby fart? lol

I'll wait until I find something you might be interested in, though. ; )

Later!

If you were closer I would be in your back yard with a shovel right now. LOL.

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

If you were closer, you wouldn't even need a shovel. We dug up a lot of plants today with a bobcat to make room for my circle drive. It's turning out bigger than I expected, which meant more plants had to be moved. What a mess! And where am I gonna put all these plants now???
