September bingo - get your cards!
okay, here we go!
Jacki/PlantiMcPlanter http://davesgarden.com/members/PlantiMcPlanter/ is the cardholder for this month. You have until midnight in Spokane, WA, on September 5 to get your "cards" to her. Your "card" consists of a list of 15 choices from the list below.
I'll start calling on Friday, September 8. (Note, my day starts at 0:01 eastern time.)
Once the game begins, every day I will call one or more picks from my list, and you will keep track of which calls are on your list. When I have called all 15 on your list, post BINGO on this thread as soon as you can! PlantiMcPlanter will then check your card and forward it to me.
If you're not able to check every day, see if someone will proxy for you.
A few twists this time:
Twist 1: Because I'm not so organized, the prizes will not correspond to the 15 you select. (The list of 36 is somewhat reflective of the possibilities though.)This takes a bit of the fun out of selecting, so a few more twists.....
Twist 2: But before that, another not so fun twist - I will not be shipping plants outside of the U.S. unless you can confirm that no import permit and no phytosanitary certificate is required. Instead, I will send something else - probably a glazed mini pot and some other stuff
Twist 3: Due to my freakish indecisiveness, I will cover the postage so you have nothing to lose. nada.
Twist 4: Prizes will be mostly non-AV gessies, and possibly a non-gessie too. (non-US folks - if you want homemade cookies, I will bake and ship! lol) You can expect some seeds or rhizomes as well, because I'm a propagation maniac and the more people grow from seed, the happier I will be.
Twist 5: I will certainly consider requests for certain plants/genera/color etc.
Twist 6: every winner (as long as I have enough copies) will get Issue 1 of Gesneriads (if you don't have it already), which is the issue that introduces the various gessie genera.
Prizes
1st: there will be one and only one winner - the first to bingo and post on the bingo thread
2nd and 3rd: there will also be prizes for the 2nd and 3rd people to bingo.
Actually, because I work and feel bad for people who shouldn't be checking DG compulsively during a workday, people who post BINGO during the same call will be treated the same.
In other words, if after a slew of calls, I call "8" at 8am, and "3" at 3 pm, and
- Pat posts Bingo! at 8:01 am
- Jo posts Bingo! at 11 am
- Chris posts Bingo! at 2:55 pm
- Jessie posts Bingo! at 3:30 pm, even though Jessie's card bingo-ed at 8
then,
Pat gets first prize, Jo and Chris tie at second, and Jessie is third and anyone else who bingos between 3pm and the next call is also third.
(everytime I re-read this, it gets more complicated! wah! but I think these rules work in my cryptic way. But after all that,I bet there will be only one winner per call, lol.)

OOOhhh I am really excited. This will be fun. I like the "twists" too. I think it is always nice to have a curveball thrown at you once in a while.!! LOL will dmail my card asap. Thanks so much for stepping up.
