Dr. Suess. I have had the most awful time with catapillars this summer. I have sprayed several times and still have them. I just heard on the news this morning that they are from the American butterfly that was accidently brought into Calif.

This is Golden Lady. I lost mine that I had for several years, so I bought this one and got it planted late in the season. This is it's first bloom.

This is B. susanne. I overwintered this one last year and this is it's second flush this summer. I have noticed that the blooms always look lighter in the morning and then later in the day they seem to darken up.

Judy, I was so diappointed when I lost my other one. I had it for four years and a good friend had given it to me as a gift. It was always one of my favorites and always dependable, so I had to replace it. I am hoping to make some nice crosses with it.

They are all beautiful!!
I love your Peaches and Cream!! The blooms as well as the leaves are gorgeous!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Thank you for sharing these bloom pics.. it's been a long greeeeeeen summer. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

So beautiful Patricia! Your yard must be so special right now. I think your Susane is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. And so full of blooms. Mine are looking much better too but still no cigar.

I looked for a pic of an American butterfly but too many different ones came up. I sure hope it is a pretty one if we are stuck with it and it eats so much.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

Golden Lady is beautiful!.....lol ZZs.....right there with you!

Eureka, CA

Thanks for sharing! My Peaches & Cream (my first brug) has just shown sign of a couple of tiny buds. Finally! I hope they make it to bloom before the weather changes too much. Evenings are getting a bit colder already (and days, for that matter.) But I bought a Charles Grimaldi this summer and it has some good-sized pods that just might make it! Woo-hoo!

Thanks, you all, for sharing your addiciton (I think!)

Peaches and Cream is not a good brug for my yard...its very slow growing and I have never seen a bloom on it ever....snowbanks is the same..now talking about Maya..this one is huge and very good at giving me huge amounts of blooms....Judy

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Judy, it always does really good for me , except that the catappillars attack it every year. Even years when they don't bother my other brugs. much, they always do this one. Unfortuately for me, the Cats have been on everything all summer.

Muskegon, MI(Zone 5a)

Well I would like to know what it likes to get it to grow a little faster..this winter it almsot died and just in the last month it sprouted another stem..Im hoping it gets a pretty good root system before I have to take it in..I dont think I will every buy another one if this one dies..the same goes for snowbank.....maybe I will trade that one before it kicks the bucket......judy

You got it right Kin. My husband and I sit out on the patio every night . It has just been in the last week that I have noticed the wonderful fragrance at night. Now it draws me like a bee to a flower.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Here are a few brugs. that just opened up. This first one is B. ambrosia. I hadn't even noticed it blooming because they were at the back of the bush and close to the ground.

another view of Mt. magic. I got this plant late in the season and it is only about 2 ft. tall so the blooms are almost on the ground.

This last one is B. gemini . It is the cutest little white double. They look awful in this picture because the catapillers got inside the blooms and ate everything out of them.
