Thanks Nada!

calvin
lol calvin....well..that spider is a little one right now...its the BIG females that are really impressive...lol
My computer has decided to take itself on a vacation...meaning, a big ole crash :( so I'm using my honey's little blueberry iMac...lol What a tiny keyboard..good lord..! So he's workin' on it...and I'm keepin' my fingers crossed that I haven't lost all of my photos again... :o
Thanks for Part III, Nada....us dial-uppers are real slow....and kinda pokey....lol
If your computer has the ability to save all your pics on a CD, that's the best way. Otherwise, have anything you wouldn't want to lose printed. I just use the Skip to New on threads I've been keeping up with from time to time. Works okay usually.
I have an external drive that I back up everything to. It was less than 100.00 and I know I'm safe.
lol Linda....well, I WAS going to save all of my photos yesterday on a cd....and then this happens...figures... : / btw...my honey has given up and is now sitting on the couch in disgust, lol...so this doesn't bode well a'tall. lol, Hopefully I'll be able to save some of my pictures thru DG since I've posted so many. Just all very troubling... :(
yaaaay...I just got home from work and my honey has gone and fixed my puter...AGAIN...thank goodness...remind me to back up my photos...lol :)
---->----->--@ Melanie
Congratulations!!! Melanie!!!
:):) Thanks, Josephine...let's just hope it lasts! I quickly backed up my photos a short while ago...lol :)
Melanie
Glad to hear it! Hey, everybody, did you see the extended forecast? There could be actual rain soon! Get out your rain dance stuff!
Awe.... they are sooooo cute!
Well Calvin, I've never seen a baby chick moon anyone before. Too funny!!
lolol Tomato....true...
Precious little critters ya got there...calvin. I always wanted a passle of hens running around the yard....*sigh* if only I lived out in the country. I actually made the mistake of telling a friend that I had always wanted a chicken...and he decided to surprise me with a full-grown fighting rooster......lol...a fighting rooster! Can you imagine?...no fluffy chick or chubby hen, ya understand. Anyhoo....I named him Chaunticleer, for the rooster in "Canterbury Tales"..lol. He hung around and made a pest of himself, waking the neighbors and claiming a tree stump for his own. So eventually he was taken out to a ranch in the brush country. lol...what an adventure THAT was... :)
Hey TXT,
I have to admit that being in the country would be nice. Then, I could have lots more. I was doing some checking with city ordinance and what I came up with was, you could have up to 5 of "any" fowl in the city limits but they had to be at least 20ft. away from any residence(house). I don't have a neighbor h=behind me just a loading dock area for a shopping center. My abckyard is 60ft. long from the back of the house to the 8ft. privacy fence. that allows me to put the chickens 20ft. away from my side neighbors. Of course the chicks are in the house until I can come up with outside housing.
I am still working it, but I think they will be outside within 2 weeks.
If the internet info. is wrong and the city says I can't have them then I will address that when that time comes until then they are home where they will be cared for. hehehehe

calvin
lol calvin...more power to the chickens... :)
I would love some Linda, thank you very much.
Josephine.
I would very much like some too, Linda! Thank you !
Lee
Ohh...hey..I forgot to tell you guys...my Rock Rose cuttings seem to be taking quite well...with just rooting hormone in a cup of soil.......hurray! :)
Melanie
Allright Melanie!!!! isin't it exciting?
Good goin' Melanie! See,...your thumb(s) gettin' greener by each day! :~)
It is so much more fun...when I am able to get a cutting
to start growin'....especially when I know that it's from a plant that is not easy to propagate! Lookin' forward to seein' your Rock Rose babies!
Well, when I started digging plants up, it turned out that there were more plants than I thought. There were lots! Will reserve a couple for Josephine and Lee. I'm always surprised whenever cuttings take for me...just don't seem to have the knack. But a friend gave me two hibiscus cuttings and both rooted for me recently, so miracles do happen!
I never really even gave cuttings a second thought......just went out and bought all sorts of stuff...never even thinking to take alot of cuttings from what I had already. Since I joined DG....I've just learned so much on how to do it... :)
lol Lee....I've always had green thumbs and toes..and probably an ear or two..lol, but never thought of seed germination or root cuttings.. :)
Take care, ya'll.. :)
Melanie
Well, I reckon its been real quiet around here because everyone is getting their seeds and cuttings all nice and green for the RU in October, lol. I'm happy to report that about 90% of my cuttings have survived....but I've lost a few along the way.. :( I can't seem to get any woolly beebrush going...not any fairy dusters either, tho my seeds came up...but slowly withered away...even tho I kept the soil very moist. :( I'm trying to get some patchouli going...since it is such an unusual plant...and I do love that aroma.. :) Along with some nutmeg geranium cuttings... :) Take care, all....
Melanie :)
Don't worry Melanie, things will warm up as we get closer to the date.
I am now getting ready for our Dallas swap, trying to keep up with details
Josephine.
Hello Nada, I looked again at the calendar of events and it still says the San Antonio swap is on Saturday October 14th.
If you need to have it on Saturday that is fine, but I need to know for sure, so I can tell whether I can make it or not.
Please let me know.
Josephine.
no we decided on Oct 15th. where do I need to change it?
btw. anybody have any Fern acacia (Acacia angustissima v. hirta)? I would love some.
O.K. then Sunday October 15th it is.
Nada you need to tell Magiemoo to change it on the calendar of events.

Thank you.
Josephine.
Wow! I just ran across this today, and would love to come, but I can't seem to locate where (except Boerne). Is this only for insiders who already know the location and time??? I've got a few items I could bring - but only what I can dig up since it's just a few days!
awww digger.....I'm sorry...this is an old thread from last year. We actually had our San Antonio swap on October 15th, 2006. Unfortunately, we didn't get around to having another one this year, but keep your eyes open in case something pops up.. :)
Melanie
Well, I had to laugh at myself for that one! It was certainly obvious enough! Guess I'll have to look for other events for THIS YEAR! Thanx for your reply.
